Wall art & gifts made from my Places & Nature collections
I am blessed to be able to work full-time making the art that I love. I give my undivided attention to my craft and the clients who entrust me with their memories. I've been a licensed Mount Pleasant Photographer since 2015. I deliver my work on time (usually early!), and customer satisfaction is my top priority.
My passion is studio photography, so naturally, I own my own studio space! My clients will enjoy being in a climate-controlled environment, free from humidity and biting insects. However, if an outdoor backdrop is something you prefer, I have a long list of options available for our use.
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, however, If I had any superpowers to boast about, patience and my ability to connect with kids (and pets) would be it!
My style would be described as true color saturation, timeless, and sophisticated. I use props sparingly. I believe the focus of a portrait needs to be on the people in the image not on clutter*.
My focus is on QUALITY over Quantity. My clients see their imagery throughout the session, so I don't need to force 100 different poses on my subjects during a one-hour session(That would be almost 2 poses per MINUTE! You would be exhausted!).
*The only exception to my "less is more" style, would be my fairy tale portrait collection, and my holiday mini sessions.
I am an animal lover, and it is my firm belief that pets are an important part of the family. Their lives are so short, let's include them in the pictures whenever possible.
Anyone with a cell phone camera can take a snapshot of you at a park, looking at the camera and smiling. I want to create a portrait that is properly exposed, beautifully lit, well thought out, timeless and captures the very essence of who you are.
My clients benefit from a pre-session consultation where I go over style, colors, wardrobe, makeup & hair, and how to get the most out of toddlers, pets, and family members. I leave nothing to chance which means less stress for you!
Like you, I wear many hats. I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, pet mom, sister, friend, entrepreneur & slave to creativity. To me, the most important thing in the world is FAMILY.
Over the years, my kids became adults, my parents left this world, and the town I grew up in has all but completely vanished. The only tangible things left are the photographs taken long ago. They replenish my memories and remind me of all the milestone moments that I can never get back or recreate.
This is why I do what I do. Pictures are the only way to get back what is otherwise lost forever. My inspirations come from National Geographic, Annie Leibovitz, and my family.
I'm a graduate of Antonelli College, a well-known Visual Art school in Cincinnati Ohio. I've been published in several small magazines such as Mount Pleasant magazine and Low Country Cuisine. I've been awarded Charleston's best photographer for Family portraits and newborn portraits, 3 years in a row. I've worked for local businesses such as The Charleston Historical Foundation, Trager Art Gallery, Charleston in a nutshell tours, Charleston Intimate Weddings, Coldwell Banker, Carolina One Realtor, Listings in Motion, and more. I also photograph events for Charleston Wonderland.
Over the years, I've dipped my toes into many genres of photography. I've learned new skills and worked with master photographers. Each experience advanced my education in capturing light, setting scenes, and directing my subjects. I am always seeking out new skills and advancements in the art form.
Photography is not something a person gets into for the money, it is an addiction, and it is something we crave. Like a fish needs water, an artist needs to be creating, and like most addictions, photography is expensive to partake in. One professional lens can cost $3,000 - $20,000. This is why career photographers must charge a living wage. I appreciate your support and I thank you for helping me feed my creativity addiction!
